Run this installer
Open the downloaded companion setup file and follow the prompts. Windows may show a safety warning if the app is not code-signed yet.
Refresh YouTube
Go back to YouTube and refresh the page. The download features should now connect automatically.
What does the companion app do?
Chrome extensions cannot run downloader tools directly. The companion
app runs on your computer and talks to the extension through a local
address, 127.0.0.1. It is not a public server.
